ProAct is a full service PBM (Pharmacy Benefit Manager) serving clients and their members nationwide. Since it's inception in 1999, ProAct has experience significant organic growth while still maintaining a 97% client retention rate.

Scope of Responsibilities:  Assists in the development of an assigned territory that includes broker and TPA relationships as well as employer verticals that result in a robust employer pipeline.  Represents ProAct in a professional manner through proposal the proposal process, at finalist and broker meetings and attends various industry conferences. 


Job Summary: Focusing in the assigned territories and adjacent geographies, the successful candidate will work with oversight from the VP of Strategic Growth to meet expectations of sales initiatives, contract closures, and assist in the implementation and general startup of employer groups. Play a supportive role in the on-going maintenance and communication with sold clients.  Targeted annual production will be commensurate with experience.


Job Duties:

  • Assist in the development of a system to effectively, and continually identify prospective new clients
  • Onsite visits in assigned territory for a minimum of 25% of work week
  • Assist in the development of the appropriate sales initiatives including cold calls, direct mail, phone contact, and Internet contact
  • Manage the closure of sales initiatives and define administrative requirements including report requirements, plan parameters, and network management
  • Assist with plan sponsor negotiations and obtain signature of contract/Operating agreement
  • Assist in the implementation stages of a new or existing account, including employee orientation
  • Assist in the on-going support and communication with accounts
  • Partner with Account Management regarding the renewal process of existing accounts
  • Assist in the development of a strategic business plan to exceed yearly sales goals
  • Partner with the ProAct marketing team to increase prospective client base by coordinating strategies
  • Attend and participate in on-campus sales department meetings
  • Provide input on development of marketing and advertising programs
  • Be fully compliant with ProAct’s CRM application
  • Responsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Minimum: BS Degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing or related field


  • Preferred: Previous 3 years hands-on sales experience in Sales or Account Management in the PBM or Insurance business

 Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Criminal background check and/or drug test
  • Initial and continuous exclusion and sanction/disciplinary monitoring
